Nepal > Chitwan > 1 Night / 2 Days
1 Night / 2 Days Itinerary
Nepal has established 7 National Parks and 3 wildlife reserves for the protection of the endangered species. There is only one hunting reserve in Nepal. The total area covered by these parks and reserves is 11,001 square kilometers (4,247 square miles). This represents 8% of the total area of Nepal. Popular parks are: Sagarmatha NP, Chitwan NP, Koshi Tapu Wildlife reserve, Shey Phaksundo NP & Bardia NP. Chitwan National Park is located, 175 Kms south west of Kathmandu. At the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan is one of the few undisturbed areas of the Terai Region which formerly extended over the foothills of India and Nepal. With its very rich flora and fauna, a visit to Nepal remains incomplete without seeing the beauty of Terai.

Chitwan features one of the last populations of Single-Horned Asiatic Rhinoceros and the Bengal tiger. Chitwan also provides excellent opportunities to view rare species such as the sloth bear, bison leopard, crocodiles and elephant. A serene float down Rapti river in dugout canoe's offer the chance to view many of the more than 450 species of exotic birds of the region including the Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican and Paradise flycatcher.
