Annapurna Base Camp Trek

The Annapurna trekking region consists of the peaks Annapurna I, II, III, IV, and those of Annapurna South. The trek’s major highlights are the ancient mid-western salt route settlement of Manang, Thorong-La pass between Nepal and Tibet, Muktinath Temple and the deepest gorge of world Kali Gandaki. Annapurna region is reached via Pokhara, which is 200 kilometers from Kathmandu. It is five or six hours by road and 30 minutes by air from Kathmandu. One can ride a bus or hire a cab from Pokhara to reach the trek head. Food and accommodation is easily available in the popular tourist city of Pokhara.

Day 1

Fly to Pokhara & drive to Phedi, trek to Dhampus (1700m) 3 hours walk

Your trip starts with your 35 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. During your flight , you will be sightseeing the most magnificent and sensational view of Himalayan range. A vehicle will take you to Phedi. From there onward begins your trekking in Annapurna mountain range. As you climb uphill . you will bask in the splendor of nature and your trails become more adventurous. Finally, after walking for 3 hours, you encounter several roadside teashops and at last your trail leads to the Gurung Village of Dhampus. Overnight at Lodge in Dhampus (L,D) .

Day 2

Trek to Landruk (1550m) 5 hours walk

Your path narrows as skirts round a ridge snout . On proceeding further, you pass through Pothana (1890m) and reach Deurali (2100m). Continue with your trekking for four hours until you reach picturesque Gurung settlement of Landruk. Spectacular views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli instill more zest and excitement into your adventure spirit. Overnight stay at Lodge in Landruk. (B,L,D)

Day 3

Trek to Chomrong (2100m) 5 hours walk

After breakfast at Landruk, you march along the mountain path of stone steps, pass through a hamlet , cross a suspension bridge and then you come across dense forest of bamboo. After trekking for a while, you approach teahouses at Jhinu(1780m) where you can rest and enjoy a drink or snacks. Thereafter, you resume your trek to the north, descending Daaulu and after having walked for five hours you, will find yourself at Comrong. From there you can have prominent and mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhare. Overnight stay at Lodge in Chomrong. (B,L,D)

Day 4

Trek to Himalaya (2920m.) 5 hours walk

After crossing Chomrong Khola, you continue trekking along steep stone steps. On your trails, you bypass rhododendron-covered ridge path, mountainous terrains and forests of bamboo. As you savor awe-inspiring views of Annapurna mountain ranges and Machhapurhhare. During your five hour walking , you cross Modi Khola,pass through Khuldigar, Bamboo and Dovan and finally reach Himalaya Hotel. Overnight stay at Lodge in Himalaya. (B,L,D)

Day 5

Trek to Machhapurhhare Base Camp (3700m) 4 hours walk

You ascend and descend as your route opens up new trails and your next destination is to reach Machhapuchhre base camp. On climbing steeply for a while , you approach Hinku Cave. This course follows zigzag paths of stones. After walking for 3 to 4 hours , you enter the Annapurna circuit sanctuary, a huge amphitheater enclosed by a solid wall of snow-capped peaks which include Annapurna I, II,III and IV and the fish tail spire of Machhapuchhre. A grassy moraine platform , where you can rest one of the lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 6

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) 2and half hours walk

On hiking the Annapurna circuit trail for 2 and half hours, you descend a small ridge branching out from the mountain pass to mountainside with widespread terraced fields showcasing tranquil meadows and lush fertile farming land. As you reach Annapurna South Base Camp, witness awesome picturesque landscapes, majestic panoramic view of snow-capped mountainous peaks and varied Himalayan cultural settings tucked beneath the southern slopes of the Annapurna massif. Thereafter, you head back down to Himalaya Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 7

Trek to Chomrong (2100m) 5 hours walk

As you continue climbing along the forested ridge residing in the victinity of chains of cloud-snaring hills, grass-covered slope opens up leading to a course descending across a rock-strewn area to the riverbed of Kali Gandaki. Kali Gandaki is the world’s deepest river gorge of great bio-geographical significance and bamboo across Annapurna mountain range. After trekking for 5 hours, you reach Chomrong and you can have prominent and mesmerizing view of Machhapuchhare. Overnight stay at Lodge in Chomrong . (B,L,D)

Day 8

Trek to Ghandruk (1940m.) 4 hours walk

As you skirt through flatland, forests and terraced fields, a suspension bridge comes your way. On crossing this suspension bridge over Khumnu Khola, you enter beautiful village of Ghandruk . You get to witness unique culture, tradition and custom of Gurung community. Ghandruk offers excellent views of Annapurna South, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Machhapuchhre. Overnight stay at Lodge in Ghandruk. (B,L,D)

Day 9

Trek to Nayapul (1070m) 4 hours and drive to Pokhara

From Ghandruk all the way down hill through village and terraced fields to Syauli Bazaar. It takes approx 2 hours. Along the way you can see good views Annapurna South and machhapuchhre too. From Syauli Bazaar, the trails follow the Modi River till Nayapul. Our lunch spot in Birethanti. After lunch you have very short treks about 20 minutes to Nayapul, catch our vehicle and drive to Pokhara. (B,L)
