Dear Colleagues,
Nepal has turned a new leaf with nearly a two-third majority Parliamentary seats won in a landslide general election by the Nepal Swatantra Party, defeating old entrenched parties such as Nepali Congress and United Marxist Leninist (UML). The Parliamentary Leader of the NSP Mr. Balendra Shah, a famous rapper and structural engineer, is the new Prime Minister of Nepal. The cabinet consists of fresh, young and qualified faces, many from Nepal’s marginalized communities, and sends a strong signal of the government’s intent to give social justice and ensure meritocracy in the civil service.
The government’s new tourism policy strives to double per tourist spending in 5 years, declare 2027 as National Wellness Year, split Civil Aviation of Nepal into 2 bodies – regulator and service provider as mandated by ICAO, and run direct international flights to the new airports at Pokhara and Bhairahawa (serving Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha).
We look forward to a New Nepal and wish all our colleagues and well-wishers a Very Happy Nepali New Year 2083.
Yours Sincerely,
Subodh Rana
Chief Executive Officer
