Message from CEO

Dear Colleagues,

As per scientists a major chunk of glacier on Mt. Langtang Lirung fell off its northern face and hurtled down the slopes in Tibet causing flooding that continued on its destructive path to Nepal past Kyirong-Rasuwa border, inundating Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river basins. The damage to infrastructure and economy has been estimated to cross the 2 billion US$ mark. Nepal has been a victim of the phenomenon called Global Warming when its own contribution towards it has been a miniscule 0.03%. Major economies of the world owe it to Nepal to restore and rebuild its infrastructure and economy in the wake of this enormous tragedy. Our prime minister Mr. Balendra Shah’s forthcoming visit to the U.N. General Assembly should help highlight this anomaly.

Having said this, fortunately the disaster was localized and all our tourist destination like Everest, Annapurna, Pokhara, Bandipur, Chitwan and the Kathmandu Valley remain unaffected. We urge our partners to send us more tourists in the season just around the corner that will help mitigate the dire effects of this catastrophe.

Our Heartfelt Condolences to the bereaved families!

Yours Sincerely,
Subodh Rana
Chief Executive Officer
