Dear Colleagues,

Spring is always a joyous time of the year. When flowers bloom so does hope! We mark the advent of Springtime with the festival of Basanta Panchami that fell on 23rd January this year. The festival of Maha Shivaratri or the Night of Lord Shiva that fell on 15th February was marked by hundreds of thousands of devotees from the Hindu sub-continent visiting Pashupatinath in Kathmandu to celebrate. The Tibetan New Year or Gyalpo Lhosar falls on 21st February this year. The Festival of Colours or Holi is celebrated in the hill districts of Nepal on 2nd March and in the southern plains Terai districts on the 3rd March. On the 5th March we have the National Elections that will decide the future course of the country after the ground-breaking events of the Gen-Z led revolt that toppled the government last September. We are planning ahead to meet the challenges the election poses for our tourist movement by carefully recalibrating the itineraries where no movements take place on election day. We look forward to a successful Spring and Summer ahead!

Yours Sincerely,
Subodh Rana
